Blue Moon July 31 2015

Blue Moon July 31 2015The first Blue Moon since August 31, 2012 will appear on July 31, 2015, a Blue Moon is when two full moons are occur with in the same month.  The only time one month can have two full moons is when the first full moon happens in the first few days of the month, the first full moon was on July 2, 2015 and the second will appear on Friday July 31, 2015. This occurrence only happens once every 2-3 years, so be sure you catch a glimpse of this amazing celestial event.

A common misconception is that the moon will actually be blue in color, this is incorrect although True Blue Moons do occur they are a random occurrence which can not be predicted.
